1. as a trainer:
1. arcanine- growlithe was his childhood pokemon! oops accidental fire type foreshadowing
2. noctowl- stern birdie, excellent for scouting and scaring legionary recruits
3. mudsdale- acquired when he returned to zion, v. good for getting around the canyon

2. as a pokemon: i have hired this scary bird to stare at you, by which i mean talonflame. fire type is a gimme. he's probably missing feathers and doesn't fly as well as he used to.

Ampharos - an electric sheep!
Miltank - cow pokemon, for brahmin reasons
Mothim - mothman
Dubwool - another sheep
Slaking - there's giant sloths in appalachia and he cracks Aries up
